Location: Buttershaw / Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week – Bradford)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Planner to join the Water Resources team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Water Resources function is a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators whilst protecting the environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of long-term water resource planning. In this role, you’ll support the Water Resources Planning Manager in delivering key strategic initiatives that shape the future of water management.
You’ll contribute to the development and implementation of our Water Resource Management Plan and Drought Plan, ensuring we have a sustainable and resilient supply for the years ahead.
Where you fit in:
As our Water Resources Planner, you will:
10. Be responsible for producing, collating and analysing data sets, whilst contributing to report writing to support the water resources team.
11. Ensure data is collated in line with regulatory requirements, this will include data input and analysis.
12. Working closely with our internal teams and consultants where required to ensure data is up to date and processes meet best practice.
13. You’ll contribute to ensuring that Yorkshire Water remains compliant with any new regulatory requirements relating to the role responsibilities.
14. You’ll contribute to the delivery of the WRMP and Drought Plan and the associated technical documents, including data analysis, modelling and reporting.
15. You’ll take ownership of preparing data and procedural documentation to support our annual reviews and regulatory reporting obligations. This includes ensuring accuracy and clarity in our submissions, as well as representing the team during audits where you’ll have the opportunity to present your work.
16. Contribute to the implementation of the Drought Plan and related company escalation processes.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
17. A degree in a relevant subject area.
18. Strong analytical skills including proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
19. A strong understanding of modelling and forecasting principles.
20. Good attention to detail with the ability to input data and maintain accuracy.
21. The capability to document procedures and verbally explain to others.
22. The ability to manage own workload and progress tasks simultaneously.
23. To interpret and articulate business implications.
24. Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills.
25. The ability to communicate effectively through written communications, presentations and in meetings.
26. To develop and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
You will also benefit from having:

28. Previous Water resource planning experience.
29. Experience of modelling and data analysis.
30. Appreciation of water resources planning principles.
31. Strong interpersonal skills, which are used to effectively communicate technical details and outcomes.
