Overview
Team Leader Physiotherapist - Respiratory Medicine role at NUH (Nottingham University Hospitals). This is a full-time (37.5 hours), permanent Band 7 position based at City Campus, with flexible working considered. The role focuses on leading the Physiotherapy service across the Respiratory Assessment Unit and Respiratory wards, delivering high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy input on the respiratory pathway, and contributing to service development and staff education.
Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day management of patient-facing physiotherapy work in Respiratory Medicine, including service development and supervision of other team members and students.
* Provide direct patient care and ensure high standards of evidence-based physiotherapy input for patients on the respiratory pathway.
* Lead and support teaching, undertake annual appraisals, and contribute to health and wellbeing initiatives within the team.
* Educate and train Band 6, Band 5, students, preceptees and therapy assistant staff; upskill new staff for weekend and respiratory rosters as required.
* Participate in weekend and out-of-hours respiratory service at City Campus, collaborating with wider inpatient leads to support the out-of-hours service.
* Promote NUH values and behaviours in all aspects of the role and contribute to professional development through the Therapies, Outpatients and Phlebotomy Directorate.
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams across Renal, Haematology, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Palliative Care and Neurological rehabilitation as required.
* Support the management, development and delivery of respiratory services within inpatient settings and promote patient-centered care to improve outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience
* HCPC-registered physiotherapist (or equivalent AHP professional) with experience in Respiratory Medicine and inpatient care.
* Proven leadership experience with ability to lead a busy service and develop staff and services.
* Experience managing long-term respiratory conditions and acutely unwell patients.
* Flexibility to work across a range of areas within the multidisciplinary specialities and to participate in weekend/out-of-hours rotations.
* Desirable: experience in Renal, Haematology, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Palliative Care or neurological rehabilitation.

* On-call and weekend duties, including a periodic respiratory late shift (approximately 1-2 per month).
