Overview
Classroom and Community Mentor Volunteer (Worcester) – Mencap, Worcester, England, United Kingdom. The role supports the Supported Internships programme for young adults with learning disabilities aged 16 to 25, helping them develop skills for work and confidence in employment and leisure settings.
Responsibilities
* Assist staff in delivering classroom sessions to help learners improve Maths and English skills.
* Support learners to develop confidence, communication and social skills.
* Keep learners inspired and engaged, encouraging them to try new activities and gain new skills.
* Support learners in the community to stay motivated and engaged in activities.
* Help with classroom activities and provide a supportive presence for learners and staff.
Qualifications / Experience
* Commitment to supporting young adults with learning disabilities.
* Ability to work with staff and learners in classroom and community settings.
Details
Role: Volunteer, One day a week. Scheduling options include Supported Internship 9:30am–3:30pm (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday) or Study Programme 9:30am–4:00pm (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday).
