The Information Disclosure Team (IDT), part of the Operations Division, leads essential, high-profile work with confidence and integrity, including adherence to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), UK GDPR and other transparency initiatives such as the Environmental Information Regulations and Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations. Their role builds trust, fosters open dialogue and strengthens the relationship between the FCA, the public and regulated sectors. As a public authority, the FCA must meet strict Disclosure obligations. Missteps can compromise its credibility, invite regulatory penalties and diminish its empowering presence as a responsible, accountable regulator.
What will you be doing?
* Champion individuals’ rights by expertly handling Subject Access Requests (SARs), other GDPR related requests and liaising with law enforcement with precision and care
* Foster meaningful connections by supporting a dynamic network of Data Protection contacts across all FCA business areas
* Communicate with clarity and empathy, producing impactful written and verbal responses for stakeholders and public requesters alike
* Stay intellectually agile by embracing ongoing learning, sharing insights on developments in information rights and empowering the organisation through regulatory awareness
* Play a key role in knowledge sharing, delivering insightful training and raising awareness that strengthens best practice across business areas
* Embrace flexibility with a proactive mindset stepping in to support evolving priorities, including Freedom of Information requests, appeals and executive correspondence, with grace and resilience

Minimum
* Prior experience of managing and responding to complex Data Protection Rights requests under the DPA 2018 / UK GDPR, confidently applying ICO guidance to ensure regulatory compliance
* Prior experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing, explaining complex issues to those who do not have a background in disclosure
* Prior experience balancing multiple priorities with grace consistently meeting deadlines, providing timely updates and staying composed in fast-paced environments
