The Role

1. As part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire.
2. To contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity.
3. Contribute to the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team.
4. Provide effective leadership within scope of role.

What we'll need you to bring

5. Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC Registration
6. Educated to Degree Level
7. Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards
8. Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
9. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
10. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice
11. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
12. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
13. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
14. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Effective time management skills
16. Working knowledge of basic information technology
17. This may include non-medical prescribing where there is a requirement for this within the specialism and legal framework to enable this to occur
18. Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

19. Registered Sick Childrens/Child Branch Nurse with valid NMC Registration
20. Experience working in the Community
21. Demonstrate knowledge of locality and national Policy within speciality.
22. Flexible and adaptable in responding to service needs in dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
23. IT and database management skills

Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for 3 months

Full time

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post for a period of 3 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Hospital @ Home within University Hospital Wishaw.

The working pattern for this role is rotational across a 7 days a week service, shift times from 8am to 8pm
