We are a global manufacturer of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) with a history dating back to the 1960s. We design and manufacture a comprehensive range of specialist products, including hi-lifts, aircraft maintenance equipment, stairs, and de-icers, tailored to the needs of our international partners.
We are now recruiting for a Laser Operative to join our team.
Responsibilities
* Read and understand engineering drawings
* Supervise the laser machine during operation
* Load and unload various cuts of material to suit the job
* Place all components on pallets and label accordingly
* Ensure all scrap metal is cleared and deposited in the skip area
* Carry out any relevant training required
* Adherence to ISO 9001 Quality Management System
* Adherence to company health and safety procedures
* Comply with general site rules, regulations, policies & procedures
* Any other duties as required by management to suit business needs
Required Skills or Experience
* Previous experience in a similar environment operating workshop machinery
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Proven measurement and mathematical skills
* Experience of labeling parts and keeping machines clean and in good working order
* Literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to communicate problems/issues to all team members
* Ability to work on their own or as part of a team
* Ability to adapt to changing job/machine/process
* Fault finding, troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues
* Commitment to quality regulations & standards with attention to detail
* Flexible hours when required with notice
Desirable Skills or Experience
* Experience of operating and running laser machines
* Forklift Truck License
* An Engineering-based Apprenticeship
* Clean current driving license
