Your new role
Our Beaufort Division looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to support the accurate and efficient management of supplier accounts and invoice processing at our Defence site in Ellesmere Port. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in purchase ledger work who is passionate about maintaining high standards and working collaboratively in a finance team.
What you can expect from the role
Invoice & Payment Processing:
·Accurately process all purchase invoices and credit notes in line with cost recognition principles
·Ensure all documentation is correctly authorised per company Delegated Levels of Authority (DLAs)
·Process supplier payments in line with agreed terms and allocate payments correctly
·Upload all supporting documentation (. delivery notes) to the IFS system using correct naming conventions
·Ensure compliance with supplier requirements for invoice and payment procedures
Account Reconciliation & Supplier Management:
·Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding items within agreed timeframes
·Allocate credit notes correctly at the point of processing
·Monitor and help resolve debit balances on supplier accounts
·Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and assist in resolving disputes constructively
System & Team Collaboration:
·Use IFS ERP system effectively to manage ledger tasks
·Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate ledger reporting
·Support the implementation of KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Experience & Knowledge:
·3+ years’ experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
·Experience with IFS or a similar ERP system
·Familiarity with multi-currency ledgers (preferred)
·Ability to manage tasks independently and meet deadlines
Skills & Attributes:
·Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
·Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
·Effective communication and interpersonal skills
·High level of professionalism and integrity
·Commitment to providing quality service to internal and external stakeholders
