Sessional (Relief) Practice Educators (Workforce Development)
Grade G10 (£20.98 - £22.65 per hour)
We are currently recruiting for our relief pool of Qualified Social Work Practice Educators. This role offers an exciting opportunity for Practice Educators passionate about supporting and developing Social Work Students and aspiring Practice Educators undertaking their Award.
In this role, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to support mentoring and assessing Students undertaking their Practice Learning Opportunities (PLO) hosted by Wrexham County Borough Council in Social Care and Third Sector organisations. The hours are flexible and can complement your substantive post if applicable.
As a Sessional Practice Educator, you will provide support to Learners, including supervision, direct practice observations, linking with onsite mentors and University Tutors. You will assess Learners' written portfolios and produce a Practice Educator Report upon completion of the PLO. Opportunities to undertake Reader Assessments of Learner portfolios to support the Practice Assessment Panel (PAP) may also be available.
Applicants must be experienced Practice Educators who have supported at least two students previously. Candidates should be registered (or willing to register) as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales, with experience in managing complex situations and partnership working. Knowledge of National Occupational Standards and a commitment to Codes of Practice are essential.
This work is funded by the Social Care Wales Workforce Development Programme (SCWWDP Grant), which supports training and qualifications for the Social Care Sector in Wrexham. The service is delivered by the Workforce Development Team within the Human Resources and Organisation Design (HR&OD) function of the Chief Executives service.
