Description The role of Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to assist in administration and management of costs and contracts relating to projects. The role may involve all aspects of work from the initial tender to final account and close out, seeking to minimise the costs and enhance value for money whilst achieving the required standards and quality. Click the link for the job description, responsibilities, and qualifications - COMH01 - Assistant Quantity Surveyor.pdf Responsibilities Area 14 Maintenance & Response Contract is a Joint Venture between Costain and Jacobs (CHC) to provide a maintenance and response service for National Highways on the Strategic Road Network in Area 14 which is in the North-East of England. As part of this service CHC undertakes cyclical maintenance, reactive maintenance, incident response, severe weather response and minor capital interventions (scheme works). Key Responsibilities Subcontract Management including procurement, auditing of Defined cost, payments, change management, earned value reporting, forecasting, performance monitoring, monthly meetings, final accounts etc. Assist with procurement of Subcontractors in a timely manner to meet the service delivery requirements Ensure timescales for contract administration, commitments, actions and deliverables are met Production of estimates for the main contract Monitor and control costs and ensure correct capture of costs within cost capture systems Prepare ‘Damage to Network Property’ cost claims and query management Provide general assistance to the commercial and operational teams as and when required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential Good Excel skills Team player Driven and thorough Good problem solving skills Good presentation skills and attention to detail Inquisitive Desirable Highways or Maintenance & Response experience Use of CEMAR Use of Confirm (Brightly) NEC Contract experience LI-JK1 Qualifications Essential Driving License Desirable Training towards MRICS or CICES
