Humanities Teacher - Alternative Provision Location: Blackley, Manchester Start Date: 23rd February Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with an alternative provision setting in Blackley to recruit a dedicated and resilient Humanities Teacher for a full-time role starting 23rd February, running for the remainder of the academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require a more personalised and supportive educational approach, many of whom may present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, or disrupted educational histories. The Role: Teaching Humanities (History, Geography and/or RE) to small classes of KS3 and KS4 pupils Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs Supporting pupils' academic progress, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with learning Managing behaviour effectively using trauma-informed and restorative approaches Working closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold QTS/QTLS (or be an experienced unqualified teacher with relevant AP experience) Have experience working in alternative provision, PRUs, SEMH settings, or similar environments Be adaptable, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour Have strong relationship-building skills and a calm, consistent approach Be passionate about making a difference to vulnerable young people The School Offers: Small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios A supportive and experienced leadership team A strong focus on staff wellbeing and professional development The opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils' lives and future outcomes Why Work with Tradewind Recruitment?
