Job Description:
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have or be able to obtain security clearance eligibility to access UK Ministry of Defence establishments, working within ITAR and Export Control restrictions.
LOCATION: Newport, South Wales, Portsmouth or Stevenage.
TYPE: Full time.
HOURS: 37 hours/week.
Role Overview: Airbus Defense and Space is seeking a passionate Cyber Security Detection & Automation Engineer to join our international Incident Response Team (CSIRT). This technical role involves working with security tools and technologies to protect our enterprise, managing Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) research, Threat Hunting activities, detection rules, and SOC automation projects.
Responsibilities include:
* Threat Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of cyber threats, assess their relevance, and produce reports and dashboards.
* Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for adversary presence, develop code-based playbooks, and improve detection capabilities.
* Monitoring & Anticipation: Maintain situational awareness, develop detection rules, and identify patterns indicating security incidents.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with industry and government CTI peers and disseminate threat data internally.
* Rapid Response Enablement: Design workflows for intelligence delivery and support forensic investigations.
About You:
* Technical Skills: Experience with security tools such as EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Windows/Linux, and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
* Analytical Skills: Knowledge of TTPs, frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM tools, threat intelligence platforms, and automation scripting.
