As a Procurement Assistant, you will support the delivery of Ipsum's procurement strategy and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day procurement activities. This is a hands‑on position offering exposure to a wide range of tasks including sourcing materials, coordinating logistics and supporting supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
* Supporting reactive and planned procurement activities
* Sourcing, ordering and tracking materials, plant and equipment
* Liaising with internal teams to understand procurement requirements and timelines
* Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations to drive cost‑effective decisions
* Coordinating logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
* Maintaining accurate procurement records, trackers and reporting data
* Supporting supplier relationships and performance monitoring
* Assisting with cost control initiatives and procurement process improvements
* Responding to stakeholder queries and supporting wider procurement administration
You will bring experience from a procurement, buying or supply chain support environment and be confident working in a fast‑paced setting.
Qualifications
* Experience in a procurement, purchasing or supply chain support role
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
* Understanding of procurement processes and supplier coordination
* Experience raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands
* A proactive and self‑motivated approach
* Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Desirable
* Experience within civil engineering or groundworks
