Clinical Practice Educator – Critical Care

Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Theatres (ACCT) Education team for a Clinical Practice Educator for Critical Care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support the learning needs of the staff on Critical Care.
The successful candidate will work with a dedicated team of professionals who deliver both bespoke and mandatory training to our staff on the Critical Care unit. You will support new starters on our induction programme, help staff achieve their STEPS competencies, co‑ordinate and support students on placement within Critical Care, and be a clear link for further education within ACCT.
Main Duties
* Coordinate, support and develop ongoing training for critical care teams.
* Liaise with the relevant Higher Education Institute(s) to ensure placement requirements are met for all students within critical care.
* Support and develop assessors and supervisors in practice.
* Provide clinically based education with the critical care areas supporting critical care staff.
* Undertake other teaching and learning activities that enhance the development of high‑quality patient care and a highly skilled, competent workforce.
* Deliver mandatory training sessions in both clinical and non‑clinical areas.

Person Specification
Essential
* STEPS level 3
* 60 Credit Critical Care Module
* 2 years plus Critical Care experience
* Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related subject
* Education/Mentor qualification
* Evidence of teaching and facilitation of group and individual learning
Desirable
* PGCAP in Clinical Education
* Possession of an Adult Basic Life Support course and a Manual Handling qualification
