We are recruiting for a Deputy University Secretary at the University of Sussex. This role involves working closely with the University Secretary to lead the coordination and oversight of the University's governing bodies, including the Council and Senate, as well as their sub-committees. The Deputy will deputise for the University Secretary as required.
Responsibilities
The Deputy University Secretary will lead a team providing high-quality secretariat services supporting the governance of the University through its committees. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational and business delivery skills, along with personal resilience to manage a demanding, fast-paced role. They will support key figures such as the Chair of Council, Chairs of Committees, the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and the Chief Operating Officer (also the University Secretary) by coordinating information flow across committees.
