About The Role
To support Intercity Technology (ITL) to develop and market Microsoft based propositions; working alongside commercial to extract the maximum value from the Microsoft partner programme and with this delivering products and services to the UK SME marketplace, initially surrounding Teams, M365, AVD, Azure and security.
Working in close collaboration with the sales specialist, commercial and technical solution teams, the Proposition Manager understands customer wants, needs and aspirations, builds propositions that gives customers a reason to be interested, enables sales, and manages proposition launches; ultimately driving the growth of the Microsoft solution set.
They keep on top of market trends and perform analysis to inform product strategies, assist the sales teams in achieving the targets; and provide input to Major Bid responses.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional with at least 4 years’ Microsoft and associated desktop, server and network experience. The individual will be responsible for the Product Management of the Microsoft based services proposition category set, from inception through to decommissioning. This involves market research, customer insight, definition of business cases, product design and definition, in-life product management, planning the development, marketing and delivery of products, measuring the success of products and coordinating the decommissioning of products.
What you will be doing
You will be constantly collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that propositions deliver growth, and that products & service are delivered on time, within budget. The role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering innovations based upon clear customer, market and technology understanding, delivering propositions that enable profitable growth that exceeds budgets. This while working with sales specialists, technical solution architects and commercial as core stakeholders.
* Stimulating lead generation and growth; create and deliver agile go-to-market propositions that have clear target markets & personas, descriptions of customer problem/ solution statements, service differentiators and evidence points to provide to marketing. Hypotheses on what we would want to take to which markets, ideally at a vertical level.
* Ability to envisage & launch commercial pricing propositions and bundles that promote new business, cross and upsellopportunities.
Maintaining the product & service portfolio operationally, commercially and technically, ensuring we manage:
1. new product introduction process vendor & technical evaluation process (to include red flag commercials, ESG, security) & ongoing vendor recommendations & maintenance/replacement.
1. Maintenance of existing product & services portfolio, to include ensuring we have technical, sales and commercial capability to win in changing markets
2. Sunsetting and retiring of products and services.
Creation of go-to-market strategies and tactics per propositions category to include:
1. Sales enablement materials & sales training, proposal documentation.
2. Customer communications & updates, promotions
3. Agile minimum viable propositions to test in marketing
4. Refinement through customer forum and insight management & marketing tests.
Using your aligned product operations colleagues you will oversee, full product operational readiness & processes to include:
1. Service definition design – API & portal
2. Sales enablement documentation on SLA, service definition, APIs, boiler plate for
3. proposals. Technical specifications documentation, service handbooks.
4. Training (on processes), technical, provide and assure
5. Commercial, contracts & pricing (commercial lead)
6. Security definitions, credibility, certification & reporting
7. Sustainability definitions credibility, certification & reporting
KPIS:
1. Revenue, margin, profit, contribution to overheads, ideally EBITDA
2. Marketing (MQL), sales (SQL) and Pipeline (Opportunity) adds and funnel conversion rates
3. Sales performance vs targets & market growth
4. New business sales profitability
5. Roadmap delivery v milestones
What we are looking for:
* 4 years' experience in a customer facing Product Manager Microsoft Services role.
* A detailed knowledge direct competitor Microsoft based products and services with an in-depth understanding of all supporting infrastructure and technologies.
* Ideally worked in a similar role for a System Integrator or Service Provider, or for Microsoft directly in a relevant role.
* Experience and direct understanding Microsoft partner programmes and working with commercial to get the most out of the incentives, maximise ongoing margins, and optimise COOP funding.
* Displays an understanding of marketing and has worked with marketing teams in previous roles for lead activation, sales enablement and product launches.
* Working with commercial businesses, public sector (central & local government, NHS, police) and third-sector organisations
