About the Role
We're seeking a creative
Junior Interior Designer
to join our dynamic Design & Build team in Cambridge. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about transforming workplaces and commercial environments, enjoys collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and is eager to grow within a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support senior designers in developing workplace design concepts and project presentations.
* Produce high-quality
SketchUp models
, visualisations, and design iterations.
* Assist with space planning, mood boards, material selection, and sample coordination.
* Prepare design documentation, drawing packs, and specifications for internal teams and clients.
* Attend site visits, surveys, and design coordination meetings as required.
* Contribute to multiple concurrent projects, maintaining excellent organisation and attention to detail.
* Communicate design ideas clearly
Essential Skills & Experience
* Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related design field.
* Excellent SketchUp skills
* confident modelling and rendering
* Good understanding of AutoCAD
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a
large multidisciplinary team
, collaborating with designers, project managers, and technical specialists.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to
prioritise workload
and manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity Revit, Enscape or other visualisation tools.
* Knowledge of workplace design trends, materials, and sustainability principles.
* Previous internship or placement experience in a design studio or D&B environment.
Additional Requirements
* Must have access to
transport
to attend site visits, supplier meetings, and client presentations in and around Cambridge.
