We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Assistant to join a not-for-profit organisation based in central Oxford for a minimum of around 6 months. This duration could be extended further and there is opportunity to get involved in other areas of the Finance department. The role offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in accounts payable processes and contribute to the organisation's financial operations.

This is a role within a respected organisation based on a historical site in the city of Oxford. There is onsite parking and the site is also close to local public transport links. Hybrid working is available (3 days in the office, 2 from home).
Description
Process and manage accounts payable transactions efficiently and accurately
Review and verify invoices and payment requests, ensuring compliance with policies
Payment runs
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation within the system
Collaborate with internal departments to address and resolve payment queries
Assist with month-end accounts payable closing activities - accruals and prepayments
Support the implementation of process improvements within the accounts payable function
Profile
The successful Senior Accounts Payable Assistant should have:
Demonstrable experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial matters
