About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh or Alderley Park.
Responsibilities
* Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress while ensuring resource availability and allocation
* Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs utilising appropriate verification techniques as well as measuring project performance using suitable tools and techniques
* Ensure that all projects and initiatives have high levels of complexity and are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
* Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
* Manage the relationship with the client, sponsor, project stakeholders and third parties/vendors
* Enhance leadership skills and delegate project tasks based on team members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
* Track project performance to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals while performing risk management to mitigate project risks
* Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis while reporting and escalating to management as needed
* Create comprehensive project documentation while developing project plans to share with clients and other staff members
Requirements
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading project teams with minimal support and supervision
* Highly competent in using planning tools
* Deep understanding and experience with waterfall methodology
* Experienced in implementing and operating financial control frameworks
* Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business and technical needs
* Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business or technical objective
* Interpersonal skills to influence change, facilitating and enhancing performance within cross-functional environment
* Excellent decision-making skills to resolve business problems and identify priorities
