Overview
You will deliver direct interventions to patients referred by one of the largest Bristol surgeries, including assessment, diagnoses and treatment of mental health needs as a link-consultant for the surgery. You will provide medical leadership to the assertive outreach team in Central Bristol (approximately 60 patients) and have a medical-legal role for patients subject to the community treatment order or MoJ restrictions. This will include preparation of MHA Tribunal reports and attending MHA Tribunals. You will support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit, with opportunities to undertake medical audit and activities related to clinical governance issues, subject to job-planning and under supervision of the line manager. You will provide cross-cover to other consultants and be expected to support the Medical Lead and participate in strategic development both within the local service and the wider Trust.
Responsibilities

* Fulfil a medical-legal role for patients subject to community treatment orders or MoJ restrictions, including preparation of MHA Tribunal reports and attendance at MHA Tribunals.
* Support and participate in Clinical Governance and Audit; undertake medical audits and activities related to clinical governance, subject to job-planning and supervision.
* Provide cross-cover to other consultants.

This post is 0.8 WTE, with dedicated 2.5 SPA time. The Trust supports flexible working.
