We are looking for an outstanding Catering Assistant who is passionate about food and eager to make a difference.
You will work 30 hours a week across 2 shift patterns over 7 days, with hours between 7:30 am to 6:30 pm or 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate. Your role will involve creating an excellent experience for our patients.
This hospital is a long-established mental health facility providing emergency admissions across two acute wards:
* Haven Ward: a 19-bed acute mental health service for men, treating both informal and detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
* Sanctuary Ward: an emergency acute inpatient service for women, accepting both informal and detained patients.

Your daily responsibilities include...
* Assisting in preparing balanced, appetizing meals
* Performing cooking tasks and other kitchen duties
* Ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room
* Washing utensils and dishes, and storing them properly
* Rotating stock and managing deliveries
* Maintaining personal hygiene to meet Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
* Handling and storing kitchen equipment according to procedures
* Using chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
You will need to cover cooking duties as required and work as a catering assistant. Providing holiday cover for chefs is also part of the role.

Ideal candidates are...
* Experienced in catering, preferably in a care setting
* Possess catering experience; dining room experience is a plus but not essential
* Hold a food hygiene certificate and maintain high personal hygiene standards
* Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and a team player

* Excellent communicators capable of liaising at all levels
* Diligent and committed to cleanliness
* Able to work independently, as part of a team, and under supervision
