This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Continuous Improvement or Manufacturing Engineer who wants to make a genuine impact within a heavy engineering environment. You'll be joining the Modular Solutions division of an industry-leading manufacturer, known for delivering robust, steel-framed modular systems used in critical infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for: Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site, focusing on waste reduction, workflow optimisation, and increased productivity. Driving lean manufacturing principles across departments, embedding best practice and coaching stakeholders from shop floor to senior leadership. Overseeing strategic improvement and installation projects—budgeting, scoping, resourcing, and delivering measurable outcomes. Supporting the deployment of automation and diagnostic strategies that enhance operational efficiency. Using data-driven insight to identify root causes, eliminate inefficiencies, and champion a culture of sustainable process improvement. Interfacing cross-functionally with Quality, Production, and Engineering to ensure alignment and engagement across all CI activity. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have: Solid background in Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Engineering within a welding, fabrication, or heavy engineering environment (desirable) Hands-on experience with lean tools and methodologies—5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, etc. An understanding of Six Sigma (formal qualification is a bonus, but not essential). Strong project management capability: able to run CI and capex projects from conception through to implementation. Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills—able to identify trends and make data-led decisions. Confident communicator, able to influence across all levels and lead cultural change on the shop floor. Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, degree) or equivalent experience. Why apply?
