EHS Specialist – Onsite
Contract duration - 3 months to start with (high possibility to extend)
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to provide short-term, onsite support at a UK-based, regulated manufacturing and life sciences environment. Working closely with site EHS leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant operations across laboratories, manufacturing, facilities, and contractor activities.
This role is ideal for an EHS professional with hands-on experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing, who enjoys being embedded in operations and making an immediate impact.
What You’ll Do
* Develop, review, and update risk assessments across laboratory, facility, and construction activities
* Create and deliver EHS training packages for site personnel
* Conduct and review COSHH assessments in line with UK regulations
* Draft, revise, and standardise SOPs to support safe and compliant operations
* Support incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
* Review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and Permits to Work for onsite contractors
* Provide general EHS advisory support to operational and project teams
What You’ll Bring
* Minimum 3 years experience in an EHS advisory or specialist role within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
* Background in drug, vaccine, or biopharmaceutical development strongly preferred; experience in other highly regulated industries (e.g. food manufacturing) will be considered
* Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and GMP-related EHS requirements
* Proven ability to produce clear, practical EHS documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, COSHH, etc.)
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required; NEBOSH Diploma preferred
