As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in designing and building the data infrastructure that underpins how we operate, from creating a single source of truth to enabling smarter, faster, and evidence-based decisions across the business. What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting in the delivery of data that informs the whole business
* Designing, building, and deploying data pipelines within the Stagecoach Integration Platform (SIP) and Data Warehouse.
* Delivering systems to store and retrieve large volumes of data securely and efficiently.
* Integrating data from multiple sources, leveraging APIs, applications, and external systems.
* Developing, monitoring, and improving the quality, performance, and reliability of our data & integration platform.
* Working closely with the wider Data, Analytics & Insight team to deliver end-to-end data products.
* Ensuring all solutions meet information security and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborating with colleagues across Central Functions and Operating Companies to deliver data capabilities that support strategic goals.
What we’re looking for:
* Master’s degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
* Strong expertise in Python and SQL for data integration and engineering.
* Strong expertise with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, but Azure/GCP also welcome).
* Expertise in data warehousing tools (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake) and concepts.
* Understanding of industry-standard best practice on how to model data for the most efficient storage and retrieval.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
* Mentorship and leadership skills on complex deliverables.
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
