Key Account Specialist – Global Key Accounts
Location: Southampton
Department: GKA Inside Sales
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (35 hours per week)
We are looking for a driven and customer‑focused Key Account Specialist to join our Sales team in Southampton. In this role, you will act as the primary service owner for a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring the consistent delivery of premium service levels and building strong, long‑term client relationships. Accuracy is key to make this role a success as filing of agreed rates is an integral part of the daily process to avoid discrepancies between customer quotation and final invoice.
You’ll play a critical role in supporting key customers, resolving complex issues, and providing valuable insights that drive service excellence and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Account Management
* Execute contracted service solutions for assigned key accounts (GKA)
* Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders at a local level
* Act as an escalation point for complex queries, issues, or complaints
* Ensure delivery against agreed service KPIs
Business Performance & Insights
* Provide key account executives with insights on service performance and quality
* Analyse trends, identify opportunities, and support performance improvements
* Support data management and reporting processes
Tender Management & Customer Support
* Assist with tender processes, spot rate requests, and onboarding of new customers
* Maintain contracts and support where dedicated account support is not available
Digital Adoption
* Promote and support the use of digital tools and e‑commerce platforms
* Encourage clients to adopt self‑service solutions where appropriate
Skills, Qualifications & Expertise
* Be able to actively cooperate with stakeholders in a highly professional and efficient manner whilst meeting the high service expectations of our Key Accounts.
* Shipping Experience is preferred
* Familiar with Google platforms / Excel / Gmail / PowerPoint
* Telephone sales as well as occasional F2F Sales
* Travel both internal and external
