We have an exciting new venture of setting up wrap around childcare at our school and would like you to help with this. We are looking to appoint a responsible person/s to oversee the running of the Afterschool Club for our pupils aged 4 – 11. Nutley CE Primary School is a small village primary school, situated on the edge of the beautiful Ashdown Forest. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in children’s wellbeing and development and ideally will be qualified in or have experience in play work. However, training can be provided if you do not have qualifications so please still apply. A willingness to be flexible and adapt quickly is essential in any school setting, as is a good sense of humour and an optimistic outlook. This role could be split between two or more people so please apply even if you can only work some afternoons. Duties and responsibilities: To prepare and deliver a range of play-based activities on a daily basis. Be aware of current school behaviour and safeguarding polices and ensure their implementation. Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues. Be familiar with First Aid procedures and be prepared to undertake training. To keep the environment safe, organised and pleasant for children to play in. Prepare a ‘light tea’, keep the catering facilities clean and help to maintain stock levels. Person Specification: The After School Club Leader will require the following qualities: A nurturing, calm and organised manner. The experience of working with children and an understanding of play and child development or be prepared to undertake training. The ability to provide kind and consistent care to all children. An ability to demonstrate a range of practical play skills. Be able to work as part of a team. Understanding of health and safety issues that affect the day to day running of the club. Salary is competitive for this role.
