Fire Engineer

A growing fire engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join its Derry office. This is a permanent opportunity offering exposure to technically challenging projects and clear progression within a respected consultancy environment.
The role is suited to a fire engineering professional with a minimum of 4 years’ consultancy experience, confident delivering projects with increasing autonomy.
The Role
You will support and deliver performance-based fire engineering solutions across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments.
You will be involved from concept design through to completion, working closely with architects, developers and multidisciplinary design teams.
Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in the development of fire strategies across multiple building types

Undertaking fire modelling (CFD, evacuation modelling, smoke control analysis)
*
Producing technical reports and supporting documentation
*
Reviewing architectural drawings and advising on compliance
*
Liaising with clients, contractors and approving authorities
*
Attending project meetings and representing the fire discipline
*
Supporting senior engineers on complex projects
Requirements
*
Minimum 4 years’ experience within a fire engineering consultancy
*
Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or related discipline
*
Strong understanding of UK and/or Irish Building Regulations
*
Experience using fire modelling software (e.g. FDS, Pathfinder or similar)
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
*
Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable but not essential.
