Petrofac is seeking a Materials Controller on a PAYE 6-month contract position based in Edzell.
Job Title: Materials Controller
Purpose / Role
To guide the Materials Management and Warehousing team and be responsible for all material control activities to support execution of to meet schedule(s).
Ensure all databases are updated; materials are receipted, bagged, tagged, and issued in accordance with Company policies, procedures and in compliance with all HSE and any legislative requirements.
Co-ordination of Warehouse, Shipping and Logistics activities.
Inventory management and reconciliation.
Key aims and objectives
1. Support development of appropriate materials management strategies and plans, including manpower requirements.
2. Efficient and effective control of all materials to suit project requirements.
3. Management of all materials in accordance with relevant Company policies, procedures, and project schedules.
4. Good knowledge of warehousing and offshore legislations, e.g. COSHH / Hazardous, Dangerous Goods, etc.
Prime responsibilities and duties
1. Support the Implementation of materials management strategies and plans.
2. Ensure all materials databases and project reporting tools are updated with latest information.
3. Management of materials between Expediting function and suppliers to ensure safe and timely delivery.
4. Co-ordination of third-party inspection requirements (e.g. rental plant and equipment).
5. Ensure all materials management activities are completed in time for shipment of materials to relevant site(s).
6. Manage the material control and warehousing functions to ensure timely delivery, receipt, checking, storing, and issuing of goods.
7. Ensure all materials are clearly labelled with PO number, Client Ref, and quantity.
8. Ensure effective and timely reconciliation and disposal of surplus project materials.
9. Promote Health, Safety, Security and Environment within the team.
10. Provide support and guidance to junior team members and assist with their development.
Allied occasional duties
1. Provide support and assistance to other members of the team as required.
2. Implement appropriate plans, processes, procedures, and warehouse space allocation.
3. Control and manage offshore/site call offs/short order requisitions, plant and equipment hire, etc.
4. Attend and participate in morning calls and any other project meetings.
