MTS is currently looking for an IT Technician - Support & Networking. | IT Technician – Support & Networking (12 months Fixed Term Contract) Job Details: Full-Time (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, 35-hour working week) and on-call or occasional on-site support on alternate weekends Salary: £24,300 to £27,000 p.a. Starting salary will depend on experience in the sector and similar role, with progression within the band based on demonstrated skills and performance. Role type: Fixed-term (12 months) Location: On-site at Coventry office (CV6 5SF) and regular travel to support multiple venues under your responsibility in the UK. Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK Start date: Within 1 month Reporting To: Associate Director (Exams Technology & Networks) Private Health Plan Defined Pension Plan from NEST Main Responsibilities: Provide prompt Level 1 & 2 IT Support for preparation and operation of existing and new exams Monitor and maintain the sites’ physical IT and network infrastructure alongside general administration such as access controls, endpoint detection, patch management Travel between MTS test venues as and when needed to support the day-to-day operation Troubleshoot IT issues in line with MTS and partners/exam boards procedures & policies Support and guide other MTS local IT technicians in line with MTS requirements Prepare, Install, Run and decommission Pop-Up Examination sites Resolve customer queries effectively with respect to hardware and software issues Maintain an up-to-date IT equipment inventory at all times Participate in IT Projects wherever needed Work On Call as per roster during weekends Person Specification: Diploma/Degree in IT, or equivalent A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT/Network support role Experience in security management (desirable) Comprehensive knowledge of IT Systems, troubleshooting, computer networks and IT security Proficient in configuring and managing Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and WSUS Familiar with best practices and standards for Windows Server security and administration Network management experience (CCNA desirable) Experience in ethernet cabling, Network switch configuration will be a plus Excellent attention to detail Customer Centric Can Do Attitude Excellent organizational and time management skills Experience within the education or examination sector (desirable) Why Join Us?
