Position Overview
A Clinical Research Fellow post is available at the Oxford Eye Hospital. The post is funded for a year.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the setting up, approval process, and submitting amendments of research projects.
* Encourage and aid in recruitment and follow‑up of patients as required.
* Collate phenotype, demographics, and multimodal imaging information and be involved in the analysis of these data.
* Provide recruitment, documentation, and accurate completion of study CRFs in accordance with clinical trial study protocols and GCP.
* Present findings to colleagues at internal and external meetings (travelling within the UK and abroad when necessary) with approval from supervisor.
* Draft publications with input from the supervisory team.
* Demonstrate initiative in supporting the development and implementation of the project and ensuring timely execution of research.
* Assist with audit and data collection ensuring the validity and reliability of data at all times, including maintaining accurate and complete records of all findings.
* Ensure appropriate consent for research is obtained from the relevant patients.
* Ensure up‑to‑date training in current GCP practices.
Day‑to‑Day Duties
The post holder will be involved in the day‑to‑day running of studies in Oxford and its ancillary units, working with the Lead in Oxford (Prof. Susan Downes) to enable the recruitment and follow‑up of patients, coordinate collection, analysis, and writing up of the data obtained, and work with nurse researchers and admin/coordinators allocated to the projects.
