Overview

The post holder will be responsible for in-depth preparation, maintenance and review of complex medical staffing rotas in Paediatric and Obs and Gynae to ensure that service delivery is optimised and that all clinical sessions are fully utilised with the most appropriate staffing which ensures cost effectiveness and spend remains within budget, reporting issues of concern to the Senior Management Team.

The post holder will be responsible for the educational administration of all Women & Children\'s and Paediatric trainee medical staff and day to day operational management of the Paediatric and Obs and Gynae rota making for the care group. Oversee the processes for the educational requirements and WACS and Paediatric trainees including the management of rotational changes for Foundation and Deanery trainees and ensuring that Educational Supervisor meetings take place as and when required and that any actions arising from these meetings are followed up.

Manage and monitor the hours worked by and the appropriate supervision of medical trainees to ensure compliance with the European Working Time Directive, compliance with job plans and correct payment of clinical sessions / overtime by overseeing weekly duty rotas and on-call rotas, reporting issues to the Service Manager / General Manager and Clinical Director.


Responsibilities

* Provide efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative support for key staff within Healthy Lives (WACS and Paediatrics) and across Women & Children\'s and Paediatric services.
* Prepare, maintain and review complex medical staffing rotas to optimise service delivery, ensure full utilisation of clinical sessions and maintain budget compliance, reporting issues to the Senior Management Team and assisting in providing resolutions.
* Administer the educational requirements for Women & Children\'s and Paediatric trainee medical staff and manage day-to-day operations of rota planning for the care group.
* Monitor hours worked and supervision of medical trainees to ensure EWTD compliance, adherence to job plans and correct payment of clinical sessions/overtime, overseeing weekly duty and on-call rotas and reporting issues to relevant managers.


Qualifications and Other Requirements

* Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS): It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust that new joiners requiring DBS clearance pay the cost, deducted from salary on commencement. DBS check undertaken during pre-employment screening.
* Probation: New employees are subject to a 6-month probationary period. Internal applicants and fixed-term appointments under 6 months may be exempt.
* Employment References: Provide references covering the last three years of employment history; e-mail addresses for referees should be included. Personal references are not acceptable.
* Working Hours: Advertised hours are up to 37.5 per week; applications from those seeking less than full-time will be considered in line with the post.
