Overview
Relief security officer position based in Cardiff, United Kingdom. Hours vary as this role is relief; hourly rate site dependent between £12.21 - £15.00 per hour. This is part of Argenbright Holdings Group (ASEL), a security services provider with a focus on risk advisory and integrated security solutions.
Main Responsibilities
As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide a visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities. You will carry out guarding duties in-store and perform related tasks such as:
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing vulnerabilities and proactively minimising risk
* Liaising with management and local authorities as applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Carrying out colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy
* Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the Client and Local Authorities
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you should be a confident communicator capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You should be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict professionally.
Required Experience and Qualifications
* You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
* Previous experience in a Retail Security role is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
* Applicants must be able to provide a full 5-year checkable work or education history.
* You must have a current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence to apply.
