We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with medical and personal care needs.
This is a rewarding role where you will make a meaningful difference to a pupil’s daily school experience, learning, and well‑being.
The role is 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:15pm, term time only (38 weeks).
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil can access a full, rich, and inclusive curriculum.
About the Role
You will:
1. Provide tailored learning support in line with the pupil’s EHCP
2. Assist with medical routines and daily care tasks (training provided)
3. Support the child with mobility, hygiene and toileting needs
4. Promote independence, engagement and emotional well‑being
5. Adapt activities and materials to ensure full access to learning
6. Build positive relationships with the pupil, staff and families
7. Maintain accurate records and contribute to review meetings
We Are Looking For
8. A caring, patient and reliable approach
9. Experience working with children or young people
10. Willingness to undertake medical, personal care and moving & handling training
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills
12. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
13. Knowledge of SEND strategies and EHCPs
14. Relevant TA or care qualifications
