We are seeking an ambitious Head of Faculty (Mathematics) to join our Academic Leadership Team. As Head of Faculty, you will drive excellence in teaching and learning, mentor a talented team of specialists, and ensure our students achieve exceptional outcomes across the 11–18 age range.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Oversee the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of student learning and progress across the faculty.
* Excellence in Teaching: Lead by example as an outstanding classroom practitioner, ensuring diverse and innovative teaching styles are embedded in the curriculum.
* Data-Driven Progress: Utilise academic tracking and rigorous data analysis to focus interventions and optimise outcomes for all pupils.
* Team Management: Recruit, induct, and provide professional development for faculty staff, fostering a collaborative and ambitious departmental culture.
* Beyond the Classroom: Lead the preparation for university entrance tests and oversee a vibrant co‑curricular programme of trips, competitions, and lectures.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience:
* A strong degree in Mathematics (or a related subject) and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS).
* Proven experience teaching Mathematics across the Senior School, including Further Mathematics.
* Demonstrable experience in line management, with the ability to lead "difficult conversations" and inspire a team.
* Experience in preparing pupils for high-level university entrance exams (Desirable).
