We are looking for a Digital PR Executive to help grow the online visibility of M&S.com through high-quality, strategic link building. This role plays a key part in improving SEO performance, increasing organic traffic, and strengthening our digital presence across competitive search landscapes.
You'll use a range of digital PR and outreach tactics to secure authoritative backlinks, create compelling content aligned to brand guidelines, and generate media buzz that enhances our search performance. From drafting press materials and pulling data-driven insights to building targeted media lists and supporting campaign outreach, you'll ensure more customers can find M&S quickly and seamlessly via Google and online media coverage.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and analytical self-starter who understands the power of digital storytelling, SEO, and media relationships in driving measurable growth.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include
* Research and plan creative campaigns that will excite the media to link back to key categories of the website, while adhering to brand guidelines.
* Write press materials and outreach emails ensuring everything is engaging and SEO optimised, with multiple angles and hooks to ensure we reach our link goals, ready for approval by the Digital PR Lead.
* Source relevant press contacts for all Digital PR activities and continually add to our internal media lists, while managing relationships with journalists.
* Acquire high quality and relevant links through various Digital PR tactics, including campaigns, reactive PR, and link auditing, while trying to minimise affiliate link acquisition.
* Work with Press Officers in the PR marketing team to optimise press materials ensuring that we are maximising link opportunities in all outreach to media.
Who you are
Your skills and experience will include
* Excellent writing and creative skills, and able to write press materials to a high standard, with an excellent grasp on English spelling, punctuation and grammar.
* Demonstratable experience in a digital PR or content marketing role, either at an agency or client-side with proven results of media placements and hitting campaign KPIs.
* Ideally you will have experience using a variety of media databases e.g. Cision or Buzzstream, with awareness of SEO tools.
* Desirable to have experience in a complex fashion or homeware retail business with high SEO traffic.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
