About You
Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. You’ll be responsible for tasks such as managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, and cleaning, all with resident wellbeing as a priority.
We prefer candidates with some kitchen experience and either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to attain one. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, ability to follow recipes, and considerate communication are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and report concerns as needed.
