About the Role:
With lots of companies taking steps to modernise their IT estates, transitioning to the cloud and getting their data architecture, data platforms and overall capabilities data ready for the AI world we are rapidly moving towards, market demand in the I&AWM sector is now building. We need to put in place a structure and leadership team that will help us capture this market momentum. Feeding off the back of our very successful core platform business, this will also provide a natural extension to this business, as our clients simplify their core platforms, transition fully to the cloud, and then build data platforms and data capabilities that generate insight, drive personalisation and improve insurance underwriting profit.
An MD resource is required to build out and lead our Data and AI team in I&AWM, building a team of AI practitioners, data scientists, engineers, architects, data consultants and platform architects, defining our go to market strategy, originating and converting market demand, leading and inspiring our teams.
This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping market strategy, driving client transformation, and building high-performing teams that deliver sustained outcomes.
What your days will look like:
1. Drive revenue generating annual business through compelling data, cloud and AI propositions for I&AWM clients, supported by strong C‑suite relationships across the UK and Europe.
2. Lead complex, multi‑year transformation programmes, ensuring high‑quality delivery across global teams of technologists, data architects, engineers and analysts.
3. Bring deep expertise across platforms such as Guidewire, Aladdin, Oracle, SAP, Workday and hyperscalers including AWS, Azure and GCP.
4. Inspire and develop diverse data and technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion and excellence while collaborating across PwC’s network.
5. Shape I&AWM data strategy, driving commercial performance with forecasting and P&L accountability in a fast‑growing business.
6. Serve as a recognised industry voice on data and AI, with a proven track record delivering data‑driven UW, Claims, finance and customer transformation outcomes.
This role is for you if:
7. You have a strong ability to articulate the value of data and AI and translate it into multi‑million‑pound, sustainable business models.
8. You can demonstrate proven ability to lead UK and global teams—including technologists, BAs, data and solution architects, and engineers—through complex, multi‑year delivery lifecycles.
9. You have a strong track record in Insurance and/or Asset Management technologies such as Guidewire, Aladdin, Oracle, and SAP.
10. You are experienced in delivering solutions across multiple hyperscalers including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
11. Ability to strategically architects enterprise‑wide data and AI solutions, with deep consulting expertise across a broad technology landscape.
12. You are experienced in forecasting and managing P&L, with recognised thought leadership evidenced through followership, public presentations, and seminars.
