Join Our Team: Two Exciting Roles Combining Clinical Midwifery and Research Innovation
These are exciting and dynamic posts, each comprising 50% clinical midwifery and 50% research responsibilities.
The research element of these posts focuses primarily on the delivery of Midwifery and Women’s Health studies at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, with trials conducted at both Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Hospital sites. The successful candidates will support the wider research delivery team, contribute to a varied portfolio of clinical research studies, and manage their own caseloads of patients.
These posts provide an opportunity to join a dynamic research team delivering and developing high-quality research activity across the Trust's services.
The clinical responsibilities involve providing safe, evidence-based midwifery care within the Maternity Services. Successful candidates will lead junior colleagues and students, advocate for women and their babies, and work on a rotational basis across different units, including potential community-based work.
Both roles offer a unique chance to engage in a blend of clinical practice and research, making a meaningful impact on women's health.
Clinical Research Role Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of patients independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
* Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, and professionals to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Provide research-related information and support to patients and relatives.
* Ensure completion of all study-specific investigations to establish eligibility and safety for participation.
* Work closely with clinical teams to map the patient pathway for each study.
Rotational Midwife Role Responsibilities:
* Manage the clinical area during rostered shifts.
* Deliver midwifery care to women within the Maternity Services.
* Provide leadership to junior staff and students.
* Contribute to the development of midwifery within the unit.
