Due to our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Production to join our expanding team. This role will be based in Guildford, Surrey. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience plus benefits.
Our vision at Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging is to improve the lives of animals, and the people who care for them. Hallmarq is the sole global manufacturer of low-field standing equine and high-field Small Animal MRI systems specifically designed for veterinary medicine.
We are a mid-sized company, still small enough to be agile but with enough resources to implement significant change. In the next 12 months, we will be absorbing previously outsourced manufacturing of a key product, and this presents a rare opportunity to develop a production system from a blank canvas.

About the Head of Production role:
You will bring a good mix of experience, with ideas for improvement. Ideas based on the latest production and manufacturing techniques. You will manage all manufacturing and assembly activities globally, along with the supply chain and stock levels. You will be a proven people manager to lead our UK production team.
Responsibilities as our Head of Production will include:
Safety and well being of the production team
Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of all manufactured products, whilst maintaining adequate stock levels
Aid in the implementation of a quality management system
Responsible for developing and maintaining all Production related documentation including assembly drawings, procedures, manuals as well as the MRP software
Assist in the processing and implementation of Engineering Change Requests [ECR] and Non-Conformance Reports [NCR]
Act as the production technical authority, having the final decision on changes to manufacturing systems, processes and procedures
Responsible for the continuous improvement of Production Process
Initial Projects
A key product is being on-shored, and the manufacturing will be brought “in house”. The Head of Production will need to take a lead role in:
Developing new manufacturing procedures
Designing unit layout and process flows
Streamlining the supply chain
Setting correct stock levels
Ensuring staff are well trained
Sharing this new knowledge with the service teams
Qualifications, Skills & Experience we're looking for in our Head of Production:
Ability to read and understand complex Engineering Drawings
Knowledge of Medical Equipment is preferred but not essential
People management and leadership experience
Attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
Ability to implement changes to production at short notice
Problem Solving skills
Strong communication
Physically able to work around magnetic fields and X-Rays
