Job Description
RED is currently seeking an experienced DNS Architect to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of scalable, secure, and high-performance DNS solutions across enterprise, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, security, and performance of network naming services, while also supporting DNS transformation, automation, and operational improvement initiatives.

Required skills and experience
- Expert-level understanding of DNS protocols and concepts, including UDP/TCP, recursion, caching, forwarding, zone transfers, delegations, authoritative DNS, and name resolution.
- Hands-on experience with DNS platforms such as BIND, Microsoft DNS, and Infoblox.
- Experience with cloud DNS services such as AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, or Google Cloud DNS.
- Strong knowledge of DNSSEC, DHCP, and IP Address Management.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and enterprise network architecture.
- Experience designing highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient DNS services across enterprise, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of DNS security threats and mitigation techniques, including DNS spoofing, tunnelling, cache poisoning, DDoS attacks, and secure DNS architecture.
- Experience implementing DNS security controls, DDoS protection, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across DNS, network, cloud, and infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting DNS migrations, upgrades, transformations, and platform consolidation.
- Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear architecture, design, operational, and support documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across network, cloud, security, infrastructure, and application teams.
