Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Occupational Therapy Team. We are looking for a part-time Occupational Therapy Technician to work with our inpatients at Worthing Hospital, providing therapeutic care to our patients.
You will be required to carry out thorough treatment programmes, accompany/assist on home assessments, and participate in general administration and housekeeping tasks. You will have the opportunity to gain experience working in the many interesting aspects of Occupational Therapy.
Job Overview
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication and problem-solving skills and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
Main Duties of the Job
* To apply, under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist, technical and creative skills in the provision of a flexible, patient-centered programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments.
* To work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in providing a programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments for a selected caseload of patients.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good level of education – 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or equivalent
* A recognized qualification in an area related to the post or equivalent life skill Relevant NVQ qualification
Knowledge & Experience
* Awareness of Health & Safety issues and Risk Management
* Experience of dealing with people and working within a team.
* Experience working as an OT Tech in an acute hospital.
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to develop effective working and therapeutic relationships
* Ability to identify and analyze problems and offer solutions
