Overview
We are seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU) part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.
Responsibilities
* Strategic lead for financial investigations ensuring compliance with the Process of Crime Act (POCA).
* Manage two Team Leaders (Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigation Team) and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Provide strong leadership, motivate and develop the team, and manage performance and work delivery.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, and Legal, and external partners such as Police, National Crime Agency and HMRC.
* Influence at a senior level to ensure the Environment Agency’s priorities are supported by other enforcement agencies.
* Support the wider organisation in improving work processes and increasing understanding of POCA legislation, including sharing lessons learned and advising other enforcement officers.
Qualifications
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience leading a dispersed team.
* Good understanding of financial investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act.
* Experience in the law enforcement sector and understanding of the National Intelligence Model.
* Effective communication skills including delivering feedback, managing performance and building relationships with external stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise a varied workload.
* Identify areas for improvement and lead changes to working practices.
* Develop and enhance team capability and individual growth.
Contact and Additional Information
This is a hybrid working role; you will work flexibly from home and your nearest office, with travel across the country as required. Incident response is central; you may be required to have an incident role and provide business continuity support during incidents, potentially attracting additional payment. Training and workplace adjustments will be available.
