Responsibilities
* Primary responsible for provision of a safe and efficient dispensing support for pharmaceutical services within the Trust, supervising the work of more junior dispensary personnel.
* Support other pharmacy professionals in delivering medicines optimisation services to patients across the Trust, including all pathways within the Virtual Hospital (VH).
* Plan, supervise and prioritise the workload within the Dispensary.
* Undertake regular stock checks in line with departmental procedures.
* Ensure all Controlled Drugs dispensed are legally and correctly as permitted by the Misuse of Drugs Regulations.
* Manage the Pharmacy Tracker system for all tracked items and prescriptions.
* Generate orders and process invoices on the JAC/CMM Computer System for pharmaceuticals and other goods for the pharmacy department to ensure that there are sufficient supplies to meet Trust's needs.
* Reduce medicines wastage by the operational provision of a safe and efficient patient own drug (POD) re-use scheme if required.
* Participate in the general running of the department undertaking a full range of duties of a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer (SATO).
* Assist the Lead Pharmacy Technician with administrative duties and ensuring correct stock levels are maintained including accurate and timely replenishment of pharmacy and ward stock.
* Will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays.
* Will be responsible for prioritising their own workload; they will be required to work accurately whilst under pressure.
