We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic medical receptionist to join our reception team. Contracted hours would be 26.5 hours per week between 8am and 6.30pm (set hours to be confirmed), with the option of additional hours to cover staff absences.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include meeting and greeting patients, booking patients from triage, answering the telephone, processing prescription requests, registering new patients, and managing administrative tasks.

Garden Lane Medical Centre is a busy Chester City Centre practice with a friendly team of 7 doctors, 6 nurses, a healthcare assistant, a GP assistant, and a phlebotomist. There is also a large, helpful administrative team.
Job responsibilities
* Open and prepare the surgery for the start of the day
* Follow reception protocols and procedures
* Greet and route patients on arrival
* Make appointments using the booking system, either face-to-face or via phone
* Book patients from triage and requests for home visits
* Process all requests for repeat prescriptions
* Complete actions on EMIS tasks, Docman, and Lab Test Due reports
* Produce letters to patients using templates when required
* Add new patient registrations onto EMIS and update patient information
* Generate reports for home visits, contacts, and deductions
* Process payments via card, cash, or cheque and record transactions
* Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including postage
* Respond to emails received in the reception mailbox
* Maintain a tidy waiting and reception area and replenish clinical stocks
* Perform end-of-day checks
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSEs in English and Maths
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Experience working in a healthcare setting
* Knowledge of EMIS and other IT systems
