Overview
Graduate Geotechnical or Geoenvironmental Engineer - Water - 2026 (Belfast). Joining our 2026 Graduate Programme, you will contribute to high‑quality geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects within the water sector, working in multidisciplinary teams from initial design through construction.
Responsibilities
* Analyse geotechnical and geoenvironmental data to deliver client reports, including desk studies and interpretative reports, with recommendations for a diverse range of water industry projects (e.g., design of new water recycling plants and transfer pipe mains).
* Support ground investigations, assess geotechnical laboratory data, create ground models, and assist with designing and reporting on foundations, retaining walls, soil/rock slope stability, and earthworks.
* Utilise numerical analysis software and collaborate with other technical specialists on multidisciplinary design and construction projects.
* Review historical maps to identify potential contamination sources, assess contaminants in soils and groundwater, and evaluate options for sustainable reuse of soils and remediation where appropriate.
About You / Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
* Keen interest in working in the water sector; ability to adapt, collaborate, problem-solve, and work effectively in teams.
* Comfortable with office-based work and willing to come into the office 4 days per week to receive appropriate level of support.
