Machine Shop supervisor
Scope of Role
The (Weekend) Machine Shop supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the machine shop. The role involves organising, coordinating and supervising employees and processes within the machining department to ensure effective and efficient operation that meets safety, quality and production standards.
Rate of pay - £30 per hour (13 Weeks probationary period CIS / Umbrella)
Shifts - Friday to Sunday, 07:00 – 17:30
You will be required to completed 3 weeks initial training with the day shift (39 hrs Monday – Thursday 7am -5pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of Machine Shop Operations
* Oversee day-to-day operations in the machine shop, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are met.
* Monitor the progress of projects, working to schedules and adjusting resources as necessary to meet deadlines.
* Coordinate and assign tasks to workers based on project requirements, worker skills, and production priorities.
* Ensure all operators use the Steel Project PLM system to track and monitor the workflow through the workshop.
Team Management and Development
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of CNC machine operators.
* Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to improve skill sets.
