CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician.

As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for completing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings, and building systems. Your duties include responding to reports of broken or faulty items, conducting routine inspections of buildings, and liaising with external specialists and contractors.

This is a full-time role based at our client in Skelmersdale. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, responsible for the upkeep of the building and its infrastructure, maintaining building operations, and ensuring facilities are always safe and functional.


Job Responsibilities

1. Support energy management by ensuring all building systems operate efficiently.
2. Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and perform repairs.
3. Inspect equipment, buildings, and systems, including HVAC, Water Systems Treatment, shutter doors, meter reading, and other PPM tasks within the CAFM system.
4. Perform electrical maintenance, such as replacing bulbs, sockets, and repairing circuit breaker panels.
5. Respond to technical issues affecting building and facility management equipment, maintaining services through PPM.
6. Complete small repairs like fixing locks, toilets, leaks, and broken doors/windows.
7. Check and maintain safety equipment, including fire alarms, extinguishers, intruder alarms, and roof fall arrest anchors.
8. Maintain good understanding of CAFM system and operate it to close completed work correctly.
9. Organize workload and manage planned and reactive facility management tasks.
10. Assess and validate risk assessments and method statements from subcontractors before work begins.
11. Ensure all contractor paperwork, including reports and permits, are properly documented in CBRE QHSE e-logbooks.
12. Deliver high standards of work under pressure, with good knowledge of health & safety legislation, RAMS/PTW, Quality, COSHH, and relevant standards.
13. Identify critical equipment issues and communicate with Site Lead Supervisor for risk mitigation.
14. Propose innovative ideas for continuous improvement to the Site Lead Supervisor.
15. Have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.


Qualifications Needed

* High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience; apprenticeship preferred.
* Valid driver’s license.
* Minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, BTec National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or NVQ Level 3.
* Knowledge of fire alarm systems, mechanical and electrical services, chillers, and water treatment.
* Strong fault diagnostic skills.
* Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting over 50 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders, and standing for long periods.
* Understanding of health & safety legislation, CAFM systems, and MS Office.
* Analytical and organizational skills, with an inquisitive mindset.
* Advanced math skills.
* Flexible working hours based on client and business needs.
* Experience in facilities management.
