Role:
If you love gardens, then you’ll know they need a lot of care and attention. Volunteer gardeners do practical work to help keep the gardens and parkland at Felbrigg in peak condition and looking eye catching.
You will be helping the gardening and estate team with everyday practical tasks to keep the garden looking its best.
Being a friendly face for visitors and answering any questions.
Helping with projects like new planting, clearing overgrown areas and other seasonal tasks.
You are important in making sure things run as smoothly as safely as possible– this includes getting to know health and safety and evacuation procedures
There might occasionally be some other activities that are of interest to you, that we could use your help with.
Being part of a team that may need to adapt to changing circumstances.
We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us. So, volunteers will:
Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely
Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
Have remote access to support, news and rotas via our volunteer website.
Time commitment:
Available at least once a fortnight – we are currently only looking for volunteers to help us out on Tuesdays
About the organisation:
At the National Trust we protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. We look after hundreds of houses and close to a million objects, along with vast areas of coastline, countryside, and green spaces, for everyone’s benefit. With our staff, members, volunteers, and supporters, we’re the biggest conservation charity in Europe. Everyone can get involved, everyone can make a difference.
