Based - Carlton, BarnsleyPermanent, Full TimeAt Premier Foods, we're home to some of the UK's most loved brands - including Mr Kipling, where "exceedingly good cakes" are at the heart of everything we do.We're now looking for an R&D Development Technologist to join our Sweet Treats team, helping to bring new, exciting and increasingly healthier cake innovations to life.If you're passionate about food, love turning ideas into reality, and want to work on iconic products like Cherry Bakewells, Battenberg and Fondant Fancies - this could be the role for you.What you'll be doing?As a Development Technologist, you'll be involved in the full product lifecycle - from concept through to launch, gaining hands-on experience across both development and manufacturing environments.You'll:Support the delivery of innovation projects for the Mr Kipling rangeDevelop new products and improve existing recipes and processesWork hands-on in the test bakery, trialling and refining product conceptsScale up products onto factory equipment, learning how products perform at production levelBuild knowledge of ingredients and their functionality in cake productsCollaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to bring products to marketWhat we need from you?We're looking for someone who is passionate, curious and ready to build their career in food innovation.Degree (BSc/HNC/BTEC) in Food Science, Food Technology or a related fieldA genuine passion for food and product creationStrong organisational skills and attention to detailA proactive, solutions-focused approach with resilience and determinationAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyFlexibility to work across office, development kitchen and production environments1-2 years' experience in a product development role (graduates also encouraged to apply)What we offer you in return?Competitive salaryUp to 7.5% pensionand life assuranceSharesave scheme and the option to purchase additional holidayExtensive learning and development opportunitiesAccess to a wide employee discount schemeReady to apply?Click Apply and submit your CV tailored to this opportunity.
