Job Description

Our UK facility is the European Maintenance Centre Hub for the SHE Group, performing level 1 to level 3 maintenance and repairs on complex helicopter engine components. Our experienced teams partner with our broad, global customer base, providing both technical expertise and broader support in both the fixed wing and rotary wing markets.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to manage the company's financial records, reporting processes, cash management and credit control function. This role involves ensuring accurate financial accounting and maintaining effective credit management practices to support healthy cash flow and compliance with regulatory standards.

What will I be doing?
Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for credit control
• Support to implement new credit management process
• Monitor accounts receivable and actively manage the credit control process to reduce debtor days and minimize financial risk exposure
• Ensure that terms of payments and credit limits are respected
• Monitor customer credit terms to minimize risk of bad debts
• Preparation of Monthly Credit Review presentation and notes of meetings
• Weekly overdue forecasting to corporate
• Liaising with the shared services AR team

Trade Finance
• Liaise with commercial offices and customer support management for identifying and resolving problems.
Participation in contracts on payment terms clause
Source for information for assessing customer background
Assess new and existing customer creditworthiness and set appropriate credit limits.
Financial risks/margin analysis for contract/offer review

Cash management
• Organization and conducting of Weekly forecasting meeting – cash and overdue forecast
• Follow-up and reporting of the overdue position
• In charge of the weekly/monthly/budget cash forecast and data modelling evolution
• Analysis of the monthly Free Cash Flow and Cash position
• Update performance indicators on credit collection.

Payroll accounting
• Prepare and post accurate monthly payroll journal entries
• Perform thorough monthly reconciliations of payroll-related accounts. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Compile and analyse headcount data on a monthly basis, preparing detailed reports for all stakeholders
• Oversee the preparation and submission of annual payroll-related returns to HMRC, ensuring compliance with all UK tax regulations and deadlines

Other tasks
• Adhoc banking activities, including setting up manual payments
• Contribute to internal control and the annual review of narrative documents and control testing in areas of scope
• Ownership of the SOD control and quarterly reporting to group


Job Requirements

What do you need from me
Qualifications:
• Level 3 AAT qualified, or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent).
• 4+ years experience within a similar finance role

Competencies Skills:
• Knowledge of and experience with accounting systems
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting entry requirements
• Experience within a credit management function is mandatory
• Experience of and confident to challenge others/the process as/when needed
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting rules and ensured compliance with financial regulations
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent organisational and communication (written and verbal) skills
• General ledger experience, SAP preferable
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Computer Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and complex data models
• Familiarity with windows based operating systems
• Proficient use of MS Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• ERP SAP Knowledge preferable
• Experience with PowerBI and PowerQuery preferable

Experience
Demonstrable of experience in accounting/finance role with credit control experience required.
