Mechanical Engineer – MEP Construction Project (Outside IR35)

£300–£350 per day (Outside IR35; Negotiable)
12-Month Contract
NB This would suit a junior or intermediate level Engineer looking for a step into contracting.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading MEP subcontractor on a major construction project in Oxford. This is a long-term contract role offering strong day rates and the opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of mechanical packages across the project lifecycle
* Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and site management
* Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
* Monitor installation progress and provide technical input on-site
* Assist with commissioning and handover processes
* Requirements
o Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within construction / MEP projects
o Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, and building services systems
o Experience working for an MEP contractor or subcontractor
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
o Strong communication and coordination skills
o Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
